The original app was designed to align with the Standard Bank app visual language. This soon became challenging as the core functionality of the apps is vastly different. It was obvious to start aligning to the Standard Bank Wealth brand to make the app feel more aspirational. The Wealth brand, however, hasn't looked at a digital colour palette or UI guide yet. So by taking the learnings from the banking app and the visual tone of the Wealth print identity guide, we created and implemented a new Wealth digital language before our first internal launch in June 2018.

Although the sign in module is common across Standard Bank, we could change the concept of the background photography used to tell a different story as to the other Standard Bank app.

My360 at its core gives our customers a true overview of their financial lives. This was the key concept we used to set My360 apart both visually and conceptually from Standard Bank partner apps. Taking this concept, we used aerial photography to share the essence of 'overview'. Using the Standard Bank slider asset to bring a sense of progression and achievement to life, which forms part of the Standard Bank group branding philosophy.

The basic flows was already in designed and developed when I joined the project. My job was to do the final usability testing and user interviews on live software before the first go live to internal staff members and friends of the program. Because the design couldn't cater for unknown backend services, we had fresh challenges we had to solve before our product was ready for market. We re-looked the on-boarding process, account linking flows, the account management section and added a help and support section for the app.

The UI was based on the banking app, that was already well thought through. The main job here was to bring an aspirational feel to the app as well as implementing the newly created Wealth digital guide that was done. This transformed the app significantly.
